The CBA Foundation StartSmart Facilitators
Commonwealth Bank Foundation StartSmart facilitators are selected, trained and mentored by National Speakers Association Speaker of the Year 2006, Peter Sheahan. Ably assisted by top-ten World University Debating Champion, Dominic Thurbon, Peter has assembled a world class team of facilitators whose dynamic and engaging styles allow them to motivate and excite students around their financial futures. With speakers based all across the country, the StartSmart facilitators are never far from your local school and are ready to come in and impart valuable skills and knowledge in financial literacy.
David Carter (NSW)
David Carter graduated from Sydney University with first class honours in Law and a Prize in Philosophy. He has worked for top tier law firms and as a communications officer in Federal Politics, but his passion for education has lead him to roles delivering presentations to school students on study skills, communication and debating. Prior to joining StartSmart, David facilitated a financial literacy program for people with disabilities. He is a young man with a natural ability to engage and inspire young people, and brings a valuable set of skills and experience to the StartSmart team.
Chantelle Goulevitch (NSW)
Chantelle graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Theatre in 2005 and joined our StartSmart team at the end of 2008. Before joining StartSmart, Chantelle was involved in multiple Applied Theatre programs. She has also spent the last two years travelling the world on a shoestring budget - which puts her in a unique position to discuss budgeting to achieve your goals! An inspiring and articulate young woman, Chantelle has the all round package to assist students with getting their financial futures started on the right track.
Zeynep Basarin (VIC)
Zeynep Basarin has been involved in speaking, performing and developing presentations and creative works all her life. Prior to her professional facilitation career, Zeynep was college captain at Brighton Secondary College and studied Behavioural Neuroscience at Monash University. She appreciates how important life tools such as a strong education in financial literacy can be, and enjoys helping students learn in a fun, interactive and engaging way. Zeynep is committed to ensuring that Generation Y are supported, able to thrive and feel empowered in their choices about their financial futures.
Vanessa Chadwick (QLD)
With a background in small business management, Vanessa has limitless enthusiasm for inspiring people to achieve their potential. With a keen interest in Anthroposophical education, Vanessa has studied and thoroughly enjoyed working in a variety of classrooms. Her passion for interdisciplinary education led her to devote a large amount of time developing and facilitating community arts projects, workshops and events. In these varied roles, Vanessa has witnessed first hand the ability of young people to undergo positive behaviour change through creative engagement.
Sanja Jovanovic (National)
Sanja is passionate about seeing young people like herself, achieve childhood dreams whilst making consistent forward motion in finance and life decisions. Her fluency in a number of languages and cross-cultural awareness allows her to deliver StartSmart workshops right across metropolitan and rural Australia to any audience. Whilst completing a double degree in education and business, Sanja also worked concurrently as a HR and marketing manager in the service sector. With such strong self motivation and an infectious vivacity for life, Sanja compliments the StartSmart team in the role of National Facilitator.
